چکیده

Integrity, a measure of network reliability, is de-ned as I(G) = min S⊂V {|S|+ m(G − S)}; where G is a graph with vertex set V and m(G− S) denotes the order of the largest component of G − S. We prove an upper bound of the following form on the integrity of any cubic graph with n vertices: I(G)¡ 3 n+ O (√ n ) : Moreover, there exist an in-nite family of connected cubic graphs whose integrity satis-es a linear lower bound I(G)¿ n for some constant . We provide a value for , but it is likely not best possible. To prove the upper bound we -rst solve the following extremal problem. What is the least number of vertices in a cubic graph whose removal results in an acyclic graph? The solution (with a few minor exceptions) is that n=3 vertices su5ce and this is best possible. ? 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

On the tenacity of cycle permutation graph

A special class of cubic graphs are the cycle permutation graphs. A cycle permutation graph Pn(α) is defined by taking two vertex-disjoint cycles on n vertices and adding a matching between the vertices of the two cycles. In this paper we determine a good upper bound for tenacity of cycle permutation graphs.

Finite groups admitting a connected cubic integral bi-Cayley graph

A graph   is called integral if all eigenvalues of its adjacency matrix  are integers.  Given a subset $S$ of a finite group $G$, the bi-Cayley graph $BCay(G,S)$ is a graph with vertex set $Gtimes{1,2}$ and edge set ${{(x,1),(sx,2)}mid sin S, xin G}$.  In this paper, we classify all finite groups admitting a connected cubic integral bi-Cayley graph.

A Survey on Complexity of Integrity Parameter

Many graph theoretical parameters have been used to describe the vulnerability of communication networks, including toughness, binding number, rate of disruption, neighbor-connectivity, integrity, mean integrity, edgeconnectivity vector, l-connectivity and tenacity. In this paper we discuss Integrity and its properties in vulnerability calculation. The integrity of a graph G, I(G), is defined t...

Towards a measure of vulnerability, tenacity of a Graph

If we think of the graph as modeling a network, the vulnerability measure the resistance of the network to disruption of operation after the failure of certain stations or communication links. Many graph theoretical parameters have been used to describe the vulnerability of communication networks, including connectivity, integrity, toughness, binding number and tenacity. In this paper we discuss...
